The staff of the 2018 JGHS High School Yearbook, The Patriot vol. 56, is proud to announce the theme and cover of this year's yearbook. And the theme is... "Launching the Future"! This will be a yearbook like no other! Yearbook staff photographer Vanessa Jaime photographed the model in a John Glenn replica space suit. A huge thank you to Global Effects in Burbank for allowing the Patriot Yearbook staff to photograph the Space Suit on location at their facility, and utilize the space capsule as well. The cover design and Photoshop effects were created by yearbook Editor Jasmine Hernandez. Buy yours now! All orders before February 16, 2017 will have their names engraved free on the cover. Senior Ads are also due by February 16th.

All JGHS & SEA 9th grade students will be receiving a device at our distribution event. Distribution times are according to student's last name (see below). Students must bring an ID, a backpack for the laptop and a parent. Laptops cannot be issued without a parent present. Device distribution and training will take about 2 hours. Distribution times are as follows:
(Acosta-Duran 8:00 am) (Elizalde-Luna 9:00 am) (Maciel-Reyes 10:00 am) (Riggins-Zermeno 11:00 am) (Southeast Students 12:00 pm)

JGHS Will take their finals a little earlier this year. First Semester Finals will take place Wednesday December 21st and Thursday December 22nd. We will be on a Block Schedule with periods 1, 3, and 5 on Wednesday and periods 2, 4 and 6 on Thursday. Dismissal will be at 1:15 pm for students who do not have a 7th period. If students have a 7th period, dismissal will be at 2:00 pm.

The John Glenn High School family is saddened to hear of the passing of our name sake John Glenn. We are taking this opportunity to remind our students and school community of the extraordinary accomplishments of John Glenn as a pilot, astronaut and politician at this sad time. RIP John Glenn.

Winter Sports are here at JGHS. Several of our Winter Sport coaches are off campus and will only be available after 3:00 pm. We have included a list of coaches and their contact emails. Please contact them directly for practice times and locations. Dates for tryouts and other items. Physicals and other school paperwork need to be included before a student is eligible to play. Please see Valerie in the Counseling office for paperwork.

Thanksgiving Break starts Wednesday November 23rd and school will resume on Monday November 28th. Please be aware that if you are playing a winter sport to contact your coaches to check on practice schedule and game times. The school office will be open on Wednesday November 23rd until 3:00 pm. Have a fantastic restful break.
