Ms. Zavala attended Carson Senior High School and graduated in 2007. Go Colts!
She went to the University of California Santa Barbara from 2007-2011 where she double majored in Sociology and Communication. She was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and had the opportunity to work for the UCSB Office of Student Life as an office assistant and a Campus Organizations and Activities Intern.
Ms. Zavala earned her Masters in School Counseling in 2013 and her Pupil Personnel Services Credential- School Counseling in 2014 from California State University Dominguez Hills. While attending CSUDH full time, she worked as a College Advisor for the Educational Talent Search Program at California State University Long Beach from 2012-2014.
Ms. Zavala ‘s counseling career with NLMUSD started in 2014 when she worked as an academic counselor at Norwalk High School. This 2015-2016 school year, she is the new College and Career Counselor at John Glenn High School. She is excited to work with the students at JGHS and help them to pursue their college and career aspirations.
